Midterm Audits Explained
Overview
Registered NDIS providers are required to undertake a midterm audit within 18 months from the date of registration, as shown on the certificate of registration. Completing the midterm audit by the due date is a condition of maintaining your registration as an NDIS provider.
Midterm audits are only for certified providers who have already received their registration and take place in person by an approved auditor, 18 months after registration has been received. The midterm audit will evaluate how effectively you are delivering your services to NDIS participants.
The NDIS midterm audit provides an excellent opportunity to evaluate your business’s performance and identify potential areas for improvement.
The scope of the midterm audit will be proportionate to the size and scope of your services.
Process For Midterm Audit
The NDIS midterm audit is a crucial step for registered NDIS providers to ensure they continue to meet the NDIS Practice Standards and Quality Indicators. Here’s an overview of the process:
The midterm audit takes place 18 months after your initial registration.
Providers need to prepare by reviewing their services, documentation, and practices to ensure they align with the NDIS standards.
The audit typically involves interviews with participants and staff, as well as a review of files and documentation.
The audit assesses how effectively you are delivering your services to NDIS participants and identifies any areas for improvement.
Completing the midterm audit by the due date is essential for maintaining your NDIS registration.
The primary objective of the audit is to evaluate the effectiveness and implementation of the NDIS provider’s systems. The main focus of the midterm audit is to ascertain whether the provider has maintained an up-to-date management system that meets the required application criteria.
